The one and only Eiffel Tower.
I absolutely loved Amsterdam.  Here's a shot of me and the canals.
The very pretty Stockholm
This is exactly what it looks like from the top of the Hollenkollen ski jump in Oslo, very very scarey.  I wouldn't catch me skiing down that.
This is a good shot of me in one of the main streets in Oslo.  It was very brrrr.
I really enjoyed the tour of Belfast, we went through all the dodgy areas but I learnt a lot about the political situation there.  This is one of the many murals you find all over Belfast, which is usually a dedication to someone who was murdered.
This is Giants Causway, perfect hexagonal shaped rocks rise from ground in this area which is an amazing sight.  Apparently volcanic activity formed this structure, 60 million years ago.
Northern Ireland is one of the most beautiful places I've been too.  This is a shot of the coastline near the Giants Causway.
Toured the Guinness factory in Dublin and this is the photo if you don't believe me.  The free pint was delish.
I certainly wasn't part of the running of the bulls, I just watched other people get polaxed.
San Sebastian was our base from which to go to Pampalona.  It had some excellent beaches and real waves.
The Principality of Monaco is a bit of a flash place for me.
Nice Nice
I did some paragliding in Interlaken.  In short you jump off the side of a mountain with a parachute.  It was better than what I thought.
Some professional olympic divers were diving into the river in Zurich by means of a helicopter.  It would swoop down and pick them up from the water and then rise to a good height and do it all over.
I did a bike tour of Munich and on part of the river a permanent wave gave surfers a ride a long way from any beaches.
Some workers asked me to hold this while they were on their smoko (break).
A nude photo of Michaelangelo's David.
Most photos of the Collesuem are from the outside, this is what it looks like from inside.
Mt Vesuvius was responsible for covering Pompei with ash only 17 yrs after it had been leveled by an earthquake, they had a bit of a rough trot.
After learning about Pompei as a kid it was amazing to see it for real as a big kid.
Lefkada, voted the best beaches in the Mediteranean. I tend to agree, with all the beautiful topless beach babes I saw.
The token photo of the Acropolis in Athens.
This was our view for 6 nights on Ios.
The sunset here on Santorini is world famous and an amazing sight.
Awesome view upon the volcanic island of Santorini.
Having a relaxing time in Sitia which is on the east side of the island
Walked through the largest Canyon in Europe called Samaria Gorge. The 13km knee snapping walk took about 4 hrs.

The Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.  This photo was taken from the top of the World Trade Center.
I left my home town, Perth in April of 2000 for a working holiday in Europe.  I worked in London for about 12 months and travelled for 5.  I travelled around the USA for a month which included New York, Florida and California.  I later went to Scandanavia, the Middle East and Europe.  I enjoyed every moment of it, well almost, but well worth the time and money.  Here's some photos you may enjoy.  There's also a number of links that I used in my preparation for travel, as well as while on the road.

Some of the hightlights were touching snow in New York (for the first time in my life), ice skating in Central Park and skiing in Norway (first time).  I was in Gallipoli for ANZAC Day in 2001, I swam in the Dead Sea, sailed down the Nile in Egypt and saw the pyramids.  Island hopped in the Greek islands, saw art in Italy and watched the Running of the Bulls in Spain.  Egypt I think was my favorite.

So you dont have to guess, the underlined text contains the photos.  Some of the photos are larger than others so will take longer to load, but be patient, there's some excellent shots.

This is my favorite photo for sure. No need to explain where it was taken. What an experience it was, cruising down the Nile in a boat for two days then seeing the pyramids. I was able to go inside the largest one, Cheops. The middle pyramid in the photo looks the largest but the 3rd one is Cheops.
I started my tour flying from London to Istanbul, went to Gallipoli for ANZAC Day. After two weeks in Turkey, got the bus down through Syria, spent 3 days in Jordan and on to Egypt for another  2 weeks.

I left Italy by taking a train from Venice to Salzberg Austria and spent about 3 days there.  Then a train to Munich Germany for another 3 days.

Followed by Zurich Switzerland where I stayed with friends and we all went to Interlaken for a bit extreme sports.  One night in Geneva, down to Nice in France which was nice.
I did a bike tour of Munich and on part of the river a permanent wave gave surfers a ride a long way from any beaches.
Some professional olympic divers were diving into the river in Zurich by means of a helicopter.  It would swoop down and pick them up from the water and then rise to a good height and do it all over.

My next movement was an overnight train from Nice to San Sebastian in Spain.  Trained it to Barcelona from there and flew out to London.

Salzberg is where they filmed The Sound of Music, so I didn't go on that tour but went to the largest ice cave in the world.  Its located 1.5km up the Alps and the view was brilliant.
I stopped in London and got a flight out to Dublin a few days later and stayed with an Aussie friend.

After about 3 days, took a bus to Derry in Northern Ireland and stayed with an Irish friend who showed me around a bit.

Bussed it to Belfast after a few days and stayed there for one night.

Before I went on my big Middle East and Europe tour I travelled around Norway and Sweden, which I really enjoyed.

I caught a plane to Oslo from London costing 23 pounds, stayed with friends and did a bit of skiing.

Took a bus from Oslo to Gothenburg where I also had a friend and really enjoyed my 6 days there.

Travelled from Gothenburg to Stockholm by train and spent 3 days absorbing  the history and culture.  Included a day trip to Upsala.

More Europe
While working in London I did a couple of trips to Europe.  The first one was to Amsterdam for 4 days.

The second one was to Paris via the Eurostar for the day.  It took 3 hours each way from London to Paris.
